10 Ways to Stay Healthy During Quarantine – Amanda Asad

10 Ways to Stay Healthy During Quarantine

We are a little over a week into quarantine. How are you holding up? I’ve left my apartment in Dallas to spend time with my family at home for the time being. While being here, I’ve developed a routine and a few easy tips on get out of a funk if you’ve found yourself feeling sluggish and lazy right now.

Here are 10 ways to stay healthy during quarantine!

1. Wake up Early

We’re in a weird period of time where it feels like a holiday with everyone out of school and work, but we still have to get up early the next day to get online to do those things. Stick to your normal sleep schedule by going to bed at your normal time and waking up early. It’s always hard for me to get out of bed early, but I’m so happy when I do because I have extra “me time” before my work day starts.

2. Designate a “Work Spot”

Whether you’re taking online classes or working from home, you need a spot in your home that you only go to while working. My sister Loren and I have claimed our dining room table. I work and she takes online classes. No one ever sits here and it’s away from distractions so we are both able to focus. If you don’t have a table to work from, I’ve linked my laptop tray below. I use this one at my apartment all the time!

3. Change Out of Pajamas

I feel so much for productive when I change out of my pajamas into cute loungewear. If you feel cute around the house you’ll feel like you can get so much more done! I’ve linked a few loungewear sets I’ve been wearing lately below.

4. Make Your Snacks Healthy

Being at home all day, I’m eating way more often that I usually do. I’ve always been a huge snacker so I don’t deprive myself when I want something, but I try to snack on healthy and filling foods that I won’t feel too guilty about at the end of the day. I’m sharing meal and snack ideas over on my Instagram under the “Life at Home” highlight!

5. Stay Hydrated

I’m not as active so I’m not drinking as much water as I usually do. I have to make more of an effort to drink my daily water intake or I have a headache at the end of the day. I’ve linked my favorite items that make staying hydrated so much easier!

6. Call Loved Ones

Mohammed and I haven’t seen each other since our engagement party, and I’m really not sure when we will see each other next. I’m sure so many of you are away from loved ones as well! FaceTime has been my best friend. Mohammed and I both watch Manifest and The Good Doctor on Hulu, so we watch it and then call each other to talk about it. It makes us feel closer!

7. Organize

Staying mentally healthy is just as important right now! When you’re cooped up in the house you can go a bit crazy having the same routine everyday. Take a day to organize the closet or bathroom drawer you never have time to get to. I’ve linked my bathroom organization video here with all the products I used to organize for some inspiration!

8. Exercise

Most of us have had to get a little creative with this one. We have a few dumbbells and bands at our house so we are making the most of it. If you don’t have any exercise equipment, that is okay! Get creative and use what you can. I know this quarantine period is temporary so I’m exercising to stay sane and not gain muscle. I’ve linked a few of the items I’m using at home below!

9. Talk a Walk Around Your Neighborhood

This is the number one thing that I look forward to everyday! I love taking walks around the neighborhood with my sister. It’s kept me sane during this time and even if I don’t 100% feel like going outside, I always feel so much better when I do. Take a break during work or online classes and go for a walk outside!

10. Stick to a Night and Morning Routine

I’m a very routine person so I’ve made it a point to adjust my morning and night routine during this time. Sticking to routines can help structure your day in a more productive way. Your night routine can be 3 simple things: Clean up room, skincare, take vitamins. It doesn’t have to be complicated, but it will set the tone of the next day!

These are 10 things I’m incorporating into life during this time, and I’d love to know if you’re doing anything different to stay healthy! Let me know in the comments below. Love you all!

Love,

Amanda
