A weekly favorite of mine that’s so easy to cook and has become a staple since I moved off to college, turkey burgers!
I’m not a red meat eater so my protein usually consists of chicken, turkey, eggs, and any kind of fish. I use to make ground turkey with rice all the time until my sisters and I decided to try making turkey burgers.
We found a recipe we liked and stuck with it. Let me tell you, they are delicious and so full of flavor! I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
And trust me, you will.
What You Need
- Ground Turkey (I use 1 package of Organic Prairie ground turkey)
- 1/2 onion
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Lemon pepper
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1/2 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- Coconut or olive oil spray
How To
- Chop up the onion and bell pepper in a food processor or with a knife.
- Combine the ground turkey, onion, and bell pepper in a large bowl.
- Add the lemon pepper, turmeric, cumin, salt, and garlic powder to the bowl.
- Mix all the ingredients together evenly.
- Spray a large pan with coconut or olive oil & put it on the stove at medium heat.
- Once the stovetop is hot, use your hands (yes, your hands) to make the ground turkey into balls and place them in the pan.
- Cook them for 6 minutes on each side or until they aren’t pink.
I usually eat turkey burgers with avocado, cucumber, ketchup, and sweet potatoes or rice! The sweet potatoes pictured above are just store-bought, organic fries from the freezer isle. You can pair these with literally anything (& eat as many as you like hehe).
