Hey friends! As most of you probably know, I’m in college, I live on my own, and I try to eat as healthy as I can (for the most part). When I moved to College Station and started grocery shopping for one, I made a list that I’ve stuck with and wanted to share it with you guys.
I never realized how important a grocery list was until I started going to the store alone and always forgetting at least one thing. Before my list, I’d walk around each aisle like “uhhh why am I here again? What do I need?”
So if anything, I hope this post encourages you to make a list of your own + gives you some inspo on new items to get at the store!
Meat/fish:
- Fish (Salmon, Halibut, any wild caught)
- Ground turkey
- Farm-raised eggs
Rice/main carb source:
- White rice
- Sweet potatoes
- Oats
- Gluten free bread
Veggies:
- Brussel sprouts
- Red onion
- Avocado
- Cauliflower
Fruits:
- Blueberries
- Bananas
- Raspberries
- Pink lady apples
- Lemons
Snacks:
- Cereal (snackimals)
- Gluten free pretzels
- Honeynut rice cakes
- Greek yogurt
- protein bars (Power Crunch, Oatmega, Gomacro bars)
I try not to keep junk food in the house because I will devour it. But if you have a sweet tooth like me, buy one chocolate bar or your fav candy and keep it somewhere hidden! Have some when you have a craving and put it back. I have to do this or I will go crazy and eat everything sweet in sight on the weekend 🙂
Drinks:
- La Croix coconut water
- Silk unsweetened almond milk
- Breakfast blend black tea (Numi)
- Orgain smooth chocolate protein shake
Oils/spreads:
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Coconut oil
- Peanut butter
I don’t always get every single thing on this list. Most of the time I only buy one or two veggies and fruits for the week, and oils/spreads last a long time (duh).
Would you guys want to see a ‘What I Eat in a Day’ post? Comment below and let me know!
XOXO, Amanda
Are you allergic to gluten or just trying to stay away from it Because of health benefits?
Just for health benefits! Sometimes I will eat gluten, but for the most part I try to stay away from it. I tend to feel better and less bloated when I do.
Would love to see a post on what you eat in a day. Also do you do any meal planning for each week?
Yes I do! I will plan on doing a post on how I meal plan as well!
